Women’s Health Research Center
overview
The University of Hawaiʻi Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology established a new research group: the Women’s Health Research Center. The goal of this project was to propose a new identity for the WHRC that could be applied to stationery, print advertisements, and social media.
solution
The identity proposal for the Women’s Health Research Center was inspired by the idea of forward exploration. Historically, the spiral motif is associated with ideas of femininity, transition, and growth. In Hawaiian culture, the spiral or circle symbolizes life, connections, and a never-ending journey. This identity conveys the idea of continual growth and discovery in women’s healthcare through the relationship built between researcher and participant.
