The phrase “Eternal Sunshine” refers to the film “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (2004). The film centers around a couple who unconsciously reunite despite scientific procedures that erased their memories of each other. Even without those memories, they were still left with feelings of unexplainable infatuation and heartbreak.
This lettering piece was inspired by the film and the idea of repetitions found in time and space. Although based on a modern serif, like Didot, the letterforms were altered to be more curvilinear. The vector based illustration was then laser-etched on transparent yellow plexiglass.
This piece was featured in the UHM Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition, VISION.
